Hidden Beach

This popular beach in the Rainbow Bay subdivision is a nice place to stop for a while. You might want to take a walk along the road running along the shoreline to the south. A good portion of it got washed out during Hurricane Andrew and it is an interesting stroll. The last time we were there a lot of the road had been repaired, but you can still get an idea of the power of a hurricane. Also, check out the huge trench dug alongside the road to try to control the waves and water.

Come here on windy days and get some spectacular photographs of waves crashing against the rocks as well as some panoramic views of the beach and spectacular ocean waves with whitecaps. You might just get a glimpse of some of the resident “curly tails” lizards, too. Keep your eyes open - they move really fast.
